An effective coaching relationship must start with an effective contracting and onboarding process – including a solid coaching agreement between both the coach and the coachee. The coaching agreement is the legal document that establishes the terms and conditions for the relationship, alongside the obligations and responsibilities of both the coach and coachee. Ultimately, it helps set the ground rules for the coaching relationship so that each person knows their obligations. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) provides a free sample coaching agreement template that we have modified slightly to create this adapted free version.
